Obituary Notice – George Medzigian

George Medzigian entered into his eternal rest on July 29, 2020. He was born in Philadelphia on September 12, 1941, son to the late Krikor and Angelle Medzigian. He attended Simon Gratz High School and then apprenticed as a tool and die maker, a profession he mastered.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Cheltenham, PA and a member of the KNAR choral group. He loved attending church and weekend rides to Lancaster PA.

George never married and had no children but although he lived alone, he was highly sociable and enjoyed talking to everyone. He had his own style of communication and even though he appeared with a sometimes-rough exterior, George was a man who wanted you to know he loved his friends, family and Armenian heritage. He was a passionate supporter of the Armenian Genocide recognition and often spoke about it in the hope of justice and fairness prevailing.

He is survived by his loving and devoted sister, Sarah Babaian, brother-in-law, Thomas, and nephews and niece: Haig, Ara and Caryn. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Ernie Voight.

Funeral Services are private.

In-lieu-of-flower donations to Holy Trinity Armenian Church would be appreciated.
