Armenian Heritage Walk
Is a group of Philadelphia Armenian Community members joined forces to restore the existing “Young Meher” statue. The statue has been a public symbol of the Philadelphia Armenian Community for almost 50 years, and was in need of repair. Their mission is to build on the legacy of the predecessors, and revive the Young Meher Statue within an Armenian Heritage Walk that honors our rich history, promotes our vibrant culture, embodies our experience in America, commemorates the Armenian Genocide, and reaffirms our relationship with God. On April 24, 1976, over 2,000 Armenian Americans gathered in Philadelphia for the unveiling of Khoren Der Harootian’s Young Meher statue—now is our time to continue the legacy.
We cordially invite you to the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the new Armenian Heritage Walk on April 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the Meher Statue, adjacent to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia, PA.
